The Quaich is located in the small village of Vrbanj on the island of Hvar. Getting to Hvar is very easy indeed. There are direct flights from many major UK airports into Split on the Croatian mainland.
Here we are on Google Maps, the pin is directly on our swimming pool. Please ignore the version to the north of the village, it's an incorrect listing that Google are dealing with.
Split is the closest airport and Easyjet fly into here from London Gatwick this year from April until early October. Norwegian also have a service into Split from Gatwick starting from early April until October. At the airport there is a bus service to the ferry terminal that takes about half an hour and costs about £5. If you prefer, taxis and minibuses are available to hire and if there are enough of you, the rate is very good - about £30. At the ferry terminal the ticket office will be able to advise you of the best options to Hvar island, the speedy Catamaran takes about an hour into Hvar Town and the more leisurely ferry into Stari Grad, two hours. Chris can give you advice on the best option. Explore the Diocletian Palace or chill out at one of the waterside cafes while you wait. Left Luggage facilities are available at the bus terminal. To make the most of your holiday at the Quaich we do recommend car hire, either directly from the airport or once you have reached the island. Although if you choose not to drive there are plenty local buses and taxis and Mick is always happy to lend his services. He can even collect you from the airport if you want. There are the usual car hire firms at the airport but if you do choose to rent a car on the island we can assist you in arranging this with some local companies. Please book prior to your holiday to avoid disappointment.
From the airport, either by hire car, airport bus or taxi it’s a thirty minute journey to the port. From here you can choose to travel by catamaran to Hvar Island and the port of Jelsa (foot passengers only) or opt for the Car Ferry journey to the port of Stari Grad on Hvar. The catamaran takes under two hours and the ferry slightly longer. Either option will give you a scenic tour through the island archipelago en route to Hvar. We now also have a very different alternative way to reach us by seaplane into Jelsa from the airport. Visit the Ferry website for up to date times and fares.
Stari Grad is only 6km from The Quaich and Jelsa is only 3km. Whether you are driving or on foot at this stage, included in your package, Mick will meet you at either port and escort you to The Quaich.
As Hvar Town is 26km from The Quaich, we can still collect you but for an extra charge of 100 kuna.
Transfer from Split in style aboard European Coastal Airways Seaplane service into Jelsa, minutes from The Quaich.
